SEJARAH SINGKAT LAHIRNYA SMP NEGERI 1

 

     Menelusuri jejak-jejak sejarah yang masih bisa digunakan sebagai sumber untuk mengungkap keberadaan atau lahirnya SMP Negeri 1 SIngaraja, didukung oleh berbagai sumber data baik primer maupun sekender serta bangunan berarsitektur Belanda. Berdasarkan data yang dapat dikumpulkan dimulai tahun 1942.

1.

    Tahun 1942 bernama Cugako karena Indonesia dijajah oleh Jepang. Gedung yang ada saat itu sendiri terdiri dari 7 lokal dengan luas masing-masing 56 m2, dengan luas tanah 5.030 m2.

    Tahun 1946 berubah menjadi Sekolah Menengah yang dipimpin I Ketut Masda sampai tahun 1948

    Tahun 1948 Sekolah Menengah ini dipimpin oleh orang Belanda yang bernama De Boer sampai tahun 1949.

    Tahun 1949-1950 dipimpin oleh Klow De Wijk, juga orang Belanda.

    Tahun 1950-1958 dipimpin oleh Made Suwara, sedangkan nama Sekolah Menengah sudah diganti menjadi Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri. Perkembangan siswa dari tahun 1952 yang mula-mula berjumlah 88 orang, pada tahun 1958 meningkar menjadi 156 orang. Kondisi ruangan kelas ada yang memakai bedeg, demikian pula ruangan aula.

    Tahun 1958 tepatnya pada hari Jumat, 8 Agustus 1958, SMP Negeri ini dikembangkan menjadi dua yang bertepatan dengan ditutupnya Skeolah Guru B. Sehingga terbentuklah SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja dan SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. SMP NEgeri 1 Singaraja dipimpin oleh I Wayan Mandra, sedangkan SMP Negeri 2 SIngaraja dipimpin oleh I Wayan Mandra dipindahkan ke Klungkung. Sebagai penggantinya diangkatlah Ibu Made Ayu Swandewi sebagai kepala sekolah di sekolah ini.

    Tahun 1959-1972, SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja dipimpin oleh Ibu Made Ayu Swandewi (selama 13 tahun). Pada bulan Oktober 1972 Ibu Made AYu Swandewi mendapat tugas di Kantor Wilayah Departemen Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Bali di Denpasar pada bidang Pendidikan Menengah Umum dan Kejuruan/ Kursus-Kursus.

    Tahun 1972-1991 sebagai kepala SMP Negeri 1 SIngaraja adalah Ibu Luh Taman dengan SK No. 2.4.1.0027.Kep.1976 tertanggal 13 Januari 1976. Pada tahun 1991 Ibu Luh Taman menjalani purna bhakti.

 
 
9.

    Tahun 1991-1997 sebagai kepala SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja adalah Ibu I Gusti Ayu Mataram. Selama 6 tahun memimpin SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja maka pada bulan Mei 1997 menjalani purna bhakti.

 
 
10.

    Tahun 1997-2002 sebagai kepala SMP Negeri 1 SIngaraja adalah Bapak Drs. I Nyoman Mustika Suyasa.

 

11.

    Tahun 2002-2007 sebagai pengganti Bapak Drs, I Nyoman Mustika SUyasa sebagai kepala SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja adalah Bapak I Nyoman Westha, S.Pd, M.Pd.

 

 
12.

    Tahun 2007-sekarang sebagai pengganti Bapak I Nyoman Westha, S.Pd, M.Pd.  sebagai kepala SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja adalah Bapak I Ketut Bawa, M.Pd.
